Fortune 50 senior executive Anthony Wedo is a highly successful executive leader in the restaurant business. Tony Wedo worked as both Vice President and General Manager for PepsiCo/Kentucky Fried Chicken Inc. from 1987-1993. During this 7-year stretch, he led the southeast US division for Kentucky Fried Chicken Inc. with over 1,200 restaurants in 15 different states. 650 of those restaurants were franchise-owned, while the other 550 were company-owned. There were a total of 7,000 employees who worked at these 1,200 restaurants, bringing in an estimated $1 billion.
Mr. Wedo’s work with Kentucky Fried Chicken Inc. didn’t end there. In just 2 years, he was able to increase the average amount of restaurant unit profit from 6% to 13%, more than doubling their store profits. He also focused some of time and resources into the national launch of the “Colonel’s Rotisserie Gold” menu item, which was featured in approximately 30% of Kentucky Fried Chicken Inc. restaurants.
Following his work with PepsiCo and Kentucky Fried Chicken Inc., Anthony Wedo became Founder, President and CEO of Boston Market/Mid-Atlantic Restaurants from 1993 to 1997. Immediately following his new role, he worked to raise over $60 million and acquired the Roy Roger’s restaurant chain, which featured approximately 84 units at the time. In just 3 years, Wedo was able to increase the amount of store units to over 160 with 7,000 employees. He was consistently bringing in over $22,000 in weekly store profits.
From 2001 to 2004, Anthony Wedo became the Chairman, President and CEO of New World Restaurant Group Inc. Some of his most notable accomplishments during his 4-year position here includes the expansion of nearly 750 different company and franchisee-owned store units, integration with half a dozen coffee and bagel brands, and the generation of $750 million in company revenue.
Since 2004, Anthony Wedo now works as Founder, President and CEO of Mainline Capital Advisors LLC where he advises private equity firms on pursuing retail and hospitality markets in troubled sectors.
